The Marriage Ring

Although a ring has a beauty
It comes with a duty
A duty that must be fulfilled
A responsibility that must be carried

Little emphasis lies on the nature of the ring
Either gold or diamond
Either fake or real, made from flasks or drilled
Heavy emphasis lies on the hearts that wear the ring

Are they free from childishness and rudeness
Are they full of wisdom, understanding and patience
Are they full of knowledge, love and endurance
Are they free from laziness and dirtiness

Marriage is beyond the rings and drinks
But fulfilling meetings and duties.
